Description
Will record upon completion and place in the hands of professional song pluggers to pitch to recording artists. Will write in person in Nashville Tennessee, on line or by phone. Below is my bio: Chris Gantry (Christopher Cedzich) was born December 29th, 1942 in Queens, New York. He began his career as a singer/songwriter at age fourteen with a recording contract for Paramount Records. He moved to Nashville in 1963, after three years at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. Chris has written more than 1,000 songs – some of them as collaborations with Nashville’s best – Kris Kristofferson, Mel Tillis, Shel Silverstein, and Eddie Rabbit. Seventy of his songs were recorded by various artist; Roy Clark, Johnny Cash, Sonny Curtis, Robert Goulet, Wayne Newton, Johnny Lee, Reba McEntire, Billy Walker, Garry Pucket and Rhett Akins, including “Dreams of the Everyday Housewife”, by Glen Campbell. “Dreams of the Everyday Housewife” won three M.M.I awards plus the Millionaire’s Award for over two million Performances. It also won the Nashville’s Songwriter Award in 1968. Chris recorded five albums for Monument and ABC Dot Records. 1983-1986; Chris lived in Key West, Florida and won Tennessee William’s Playwriting Contest with a collection of one act plays titled “Teeth and Nails”. He wrote a collection of published short stories entitled “Father Duck Tales”. HE appeared locally in the “Rebel”, an evening with James Dean in 1997. 1995 -2000; Chris wrote for Sony Music and Warner Chapel Music. HE penned songs for Rhett Atkins and the band Yankee Grey. Chris wrote the title cut on their first album entitled “Untamed”. In 2001 Chris went to work for Faverett Music Group, collaborating with Josh Osborne, a young multi- talented singer/songwriter. Together, they’ve written a wealth of material of all different musical styles. Presently, Chris is continues to write music with some of today’s brightest up and coming stars including Nashville’s own Adam Fears. He also ids writing a children’s book for a collection of gospel songs called “The Adventures of Captain Jonah”. Chris is completing a new children’s book entitled, “Up Down the Front Back Door”, a collection of abstract poems put to music. Chris has recently made is home in Mulberry, Tennessee where he and his wife own and operate Dreamfields Bed and Breakfast. Chris is available for performances and motivational engagements for youth organizations and churches. His newest album, “Next Time I Play Carneige Hall”. This is a collection of avert humor dedicated to veteran comedian, Eddie Lawerence, originator of “The Old Philosopher”.
