Description
Why my service is unique!Technical support in this day and age is a very complex and often, a very frustrating problem. There are so many things that can go wrong, and when it does, options are limited to calling someone, paying big amounts of money, and most often, talking with people that have people who do not speak English natively (its hard to understand them over the phone). The other aspect of "what you get for what you pay", is usually a single focused technical support issue resolved, and nothing more. What you can expect from me!First and foremost, the main difference of my remote support offerings is that I work with "you" One-On-One to not only fix the issue, but do it with you so you understand what happened, how it gets fixed, and train you how to be self sufficient in fixing it in the future should it occur again. On our initial remote support session, here is just a partial listing of the things we will look at and do "together" on your system. Operating system updates and patches Application updates and patches Hardware driver updates and patches Spyware system check and prevention setup Anti-Virus check and definitions file update Performance Optimization (make sure that your unique system is running at peak performance) Recommend any options of "either software or hardware" that would be of benefit based on your usage style Make sure that you have a backup strategy in place, help you set up one if you don't Check your wireless network setup and show you how to secure your home wireless network if it is not Set up the Windows interface to work for you not against you, (depending on how you use your system) Show you how to do certain things quicker, practice them with you, instead of just throwing a bunch of instructions at you which you will never be able to remember Be patient with you, as I understand that you may not be a computer geek. I will learn your level of understanding and learning desires, and adjust my teaching style and content to it. This way you are not put in uncomfortable positions of stress and misunderstanding, you set the level. Most people tell me that my remote sessions are actually fun. (Fun is a big thing with me and one of the reasons I got into computing in the first place, to me it is fun.) Technology recommendations; before you go to purchase new technology, lets talk! I am current with what is out there in the marketplace, know where the best deals are and will guide you in the right direction. Keeping you from wasting your time and money potentially on the wrong technology. This and a whole lot more that is dynamic in nature, lots of things will come up to talk about when we work together. If I recognize something that is a technology fit , I will guide you to it. You will "Never" see me "riding the clock"! Most every other technical support company out there base their services on time. These companies "because they make their money on the time you spend together", will find way's to extend the time simply because the more time they spend with you, the more money they make you pay. For example you will find them charging you while you both sit and watch files download from the Internet. To me, that is not an efficient use of your time or your money. During our session if we run into those times when we are not being productive (talking or learning for your benefit), I will stop the clock, by temporally disconnecting from your system, and then re-connecting with you once the file has been downloaded and we are ready to continue. This to me is a much more productive use of our time together and your money We can work together on developing a technology plan, for managing the maintenance of your system or backup strategy. Just let me know what you would like me to manage for you. (See monthly and yearly subscription offerings on the Services page) As far as big companies, or offices and IT departments, sorry, but my service offerings are not for you. This is a service specifically created for end users that appreciate what I am offering, and to be quite frank, after 30+ years in the technology business, I have no desire to be a big company. I wish to remain as I am, small , I enjoy working with people and their friends and family without that "Rush Rush" hurry lets make a buck mentality. My Remote Support Services income covers my basic needs, keeps me updated on the latest technology, and allows the rest of my time to work on volunteer projects that contribute to the efforts of assisting in the prevention of loss of life and property and helps to build community togetherness something we have lost in recent years.I don not believe there is any other service out there like what I am offering, it is unique, appreciated and I have the freedom to do things for my clients, a large company just can't do.Please take a look at the other pages on my site to learn more about me, some of the community oriented projects I have created, or are participating in, plus meet some my incredible friends and clients. Interesting thing, most of my clients end up being my friends, another thing, big companies have no way of offering. Thanks for visiting!-Steve If you would like more info on me go to www.stevenlongmire.com Copyright 2008.
